Access to specialized healthcare is often hindered by long wait times and geographical barriers. HealthFirst Inc. aimed to democratize access to specialists by creating a platform that allows secure, remote consultations. The primary challenge was building a user-friendly experience that adhered to strict HIPAA regulations.

Finding the right direction.

We audited clinician workflows and patient anxiety triggers. We crafted a soft, high-accessibility UI with larger tap targets to reduce cognitive load and patient anxiety, ensuring the app remains fully accessible for seniors.

03 · Product Strategy

Defining the product vision.

We designed the strategy around low-latency, encrypted video calls and clean appointment flows to make scheduling consultations straightforward and secure in under five taps.

04 · Engineering Approach

Building technology that scales.

We engineered HIPAA-compliant video servers utilizing end-to-end encryption for session tokens. Secure instant messaging and prescription-handling modules use custom offline-sync state caching.

05 · Outcome & Learnings

Creating measurable value.

The platform successfully enabled video consultations and automated prescriptions. We learned that implementing adaptive bitrate streaming resolved video dropouts in remote areas, ensuring consultation continuity.
